ExperienceMy experience as a tutor comes on the heels of a strong academic background and practical training. After completing the requirements to earn an undergraduate economics degree from Cornell University, I went on to do post-graduate studies in an Asian language concentration program. This program included a year's worth of thorough studies in Mandarin, some of which was done on the campus of Cornell University and some of which was done at Beijing, China-based Peking University. In May 2013, I wrapped up my Mandarin studies, achieving a 3.6 grade point average, and decided to stay in China for anther year. It was during this time that I took a job as a tutor in the world's most populous nation. I taught history, economics, and English to Chinese students. My classes were done on a one-to-one basis to ensure specialized attention for students. I continued pursuing my Mandarin learning independently, and, in July 2014, earned HSK level five certification.I very much derived satisfaction from tutoring people, so after returning to America from China, I kept on teaching numerous subjects, such as TOEFL, economics, and Chinese, both in person and online. I can be very accommodating when it comes to setting up appointments to fit into my clients' schedules. Also, I'm equally comfortable tutoring online as I am tutoring in person. When enjoying some down time, I like yoga, video games, soccer, and badminton.
